Michelle J. Correll is an accomplished trial lawyer whose practice focuses on business litigation and trusts and estates litigation. Her clients include individuals, small and large businesses, and even other attorneys.

Recent trial victories have included:

  • Obtaining a $34.5 million jury verdict for the plaintiffs in a suit against the law firm of Holland & Knight LLP for legal malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty and fraud (verdict was named one of the Los Angeles Daily Journal’s Top Plaintiffs’ Verdicts by Impact for 2012)
  • Prevailing at trial in an action by heirs to the estate of singer and songwriter Hank Ballard (“The Twist,” “Finger Poppin’ Time”) to remove the administrator of the estate
  • Prevailing at trial for an architect in a lawsuit brought by a Los Angeles area gym alleging fraud, negligence, and breach of contract arising out of the architect’s work on the gym, and obtaining a verdict for the architect on his cross-claims against the gym for non-payment

Ms. Correll spent the first seven years of her career at two of the nation’s largest and most respected law firms, Latham & Watkins and Quinn Emanuel. Ms. Correll’s litigation experience at Latham & Watkins and Quinn Emanuel included:

  • Obtaining a unanimous jury verdict in favor of the plaintiff in a lawsuit regarding the ownership rights to an apartment building
  • Defending IBM in a lawsuit involving breach of contract claims arising out of IBM’s work as the general contractor on a project for LAUSD
  • Defending The Cooper Companies, Inc., a global medical device company, in a securities class action
  • Defending The E.W. Scripps Company, Scripps Networks, Inc. and Television Food Network G.P. in a copyright infringement action relating to certain television shows featuring Rachael Ray
